Band aid and instant tan
At the end of 1995, I spent two months travelling around the USA, culminating in a residency at the University of Niagara. I visited virtual reality facilities all over the country. Everything looked artificial to me (maybe it was just my eyes), so I made this version of Denis Oppenheim's Endurance work (pictured). I used an instant tan spray. The title also refers to the 'reality' quality of Joseph Beuys' work.
